One Big Circle Cape Henlopen - 6th Annual Weekend!
September 8-10, 2017
Cape Henlopen State Park

Organized by: Mali Parke and Robin O’Brien

This “One Big Circle (OBC) Weekend”, co-sponsored by Family HEART Camp and the Peace Circle Center, comes to the beaches and dunes of Delaware for its sixth-year running in September 2017!

Family HEART Camp and The Peace Circle Center, both dedicated to supporting families to connect with and raise children with deep connections and peace-building skills, are organizing a One Big Circle Cape Henlopen weekend at Cape Henlopen State Park in Delaware, September 8-10, 2017

Our hope and vision is to provide a space for families to gather, live, support each other, and connect to their children in a ‘no-fault zone’, compassionate heart space.

We hope to co-create this weekend with you and enjoy nature, connect with each other, offer empathic space and support for all. In other words, let us all come together and share what we have to offer to make this a welcoming and supportive weekend for all!

Using Community Supported Programming (CSP), we envision that anyone can offer their unique gifts to each other such as discussions around Nonviolent Communication (NVC), Peaceful Parenting, Peace Circle/Restorative Circle role-plays, social-emotional games with children, cooperative games, and any other services like Reiki, yoga, tai chi… or simply meet at the beach and build sand castles!

In the previous five years offering this camping trip, we have more than 20 families join us to co-create a conscious compassionate community and share diverse and rich offerings over a weekend.

We hope to see some of you again and meet new families!

Please note that sites fill up very quickly each year. We are putting this out well in advance of the event so that you can go ahead and book your site now if you wish.

This is a TWO-STEP Process:

1) Book Your Own Site through the Cape Henlopen State Park website. Register early to ensure you have a spot!  Mali will be at T-003, Robin at T-005. We invite you to book sites as close to us as possible to get a sense of community for the children playing easily together and families cooking breakfast or other meals possibly together as well.

BOOK IT NOW! These sites got out months in advance…

2) REGISTER and CONTRIBUTE on this Peace Circle Eventbrite page

NOTE:  We need a registration for us to follow-up with you by email and send details.
We request a contribution of $50-$200/family to help us cover some of the Peace Circle Center’s organizational and outreach costs and contribute towards scholarships for the regional NVC summer camp, Family HEART Camp West Virginia ( There is a Pay-What-You-Can/Free Ticket option. We invite you to contribute to what joyfully to easily/willingly you can as you consider the value this community weekend brings to your family.

Contact Mali at mali [at] peacecirclecenter [dot] org if you have any questions.

Camping sites

Camping Pricing: See updated info directly on Cape Henlopen registration site. One night runs around $35/night/campsite. You can partner with another family and have up to two tents, 8 individuals on a campsite.

Once you have your campsite booked, email mali(at)peacecirclecenter(dot)org so we can keep track of where you will be located – as well as indicate if you are willing to share your campsite (and therefore reduce your own price) so we can put you in touch with others who are interested in sharing too. This will drastically support maximizing how many families can come (in the past, we were able to have two families per campsite to use all spots that were left available).

This camp is a Bring Your Own Food camp. We invite you to consider bringing potluck and to-share items for both evenings of Friday and Saturday night. We will gather on campsites (TBA) as a whole community each night to grill together, roast marshmallows, offered by Peace Circle Center / Family HEART Camp, and sing around the campfire.

We look forward to our 6th annual beach community time. Hope to see you there! Invite your friends!
